Privacy Policy
1. Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Your reading history is deeply personal. KindleRecs was built from day one on the principle that your literary tastes, finished books, and reading habits belong solely to you.
2. What Information We Collect
- Account Information: If you choose to log in, we store your email address or Apple ID pseudonym.
- Kindle Reading Data: Book titles, authors, and ASINs that you voluntarily upload or sync from your Kindle Cloud Reader account.
- Preferences & Feedback: Swipes, ratings, ignored authors, and your preferred public library slug.
3. How Your Data is Used
We use your data exclusively to:
- Calculate mathematical cosine similarity and LinUCB contextual bandit scores to recommend relevant books.
- Check real-time Kindle eBook availability and hold counts at your selected OverDrive or Libby public library.
- Maintain your personal "Want to Read" and "Liked" reading queue.
4. Data Isolation & Multi-Tenant Architecture
Each user’s personal data, bandit tuning weights, and reading history reside in an isolated personal database tenant. We do not blend your private reading history with other users, nor do we sell your data to data brokers, ad networks, or third-party marketing companies.
5. Public Library Queries
When our system checks for book availability, we query the public OverDrive Thunder API for titles and authors. No personal account information or library card numbers are ever transmitted during these catalog checks.
6. Your Data Rights & Deletion
You retain full ownership of your data. You may request complete deletion of your account and all associated tenant databases at any time by contacting us at privacy@beans4.com or via the settings panel in the app.
7. Contact Us
If you have any questions or feedback regarding this Privacy Policy, please reach out to us at support@beans4.com.
